Confused about Sizing?
We often get asked, “What is the difference in quantity is between a facecord and a full cord?” We are here to help!
A facecord is 4 FT in height, 8 FT in length, and a depth equal to the wood’s length; this can be in the range of 14-18 inches. A full cord of firewood contains 3 face cords.
Dumped or Stacked. Your Choice.
Choose the delivery type that works best for your property. Prefer to handle the stacking yourself? Select
dumped delivery. Want the wood neatly arranged? Ask about stacked delivery.
Whether you want us to dump it on your driveway or stack it on a firewood rack, our team can help you out!
What Type of Wood Do We Offer?
At Metro Detroit Tree & Firewood, we believe in making the most of every tree. Rather than letting valuable
wood go to waste, we repurpose wood collected from our tree removals and transform it into quality
firewood for your home, fireplace, or outdoor firepit.
Our firewood consists of a variety of hardwood species, including:
Ash • Apple • Birch • Hickory • Locust • Maple • Oak • Walnut
Each species offers its own unique burning characteristics, from the long-lasting heat of oak and hickory to the
pleasant aromas of apple.
By repurposing locally sourced wood, we’re able to provide our community with quality firewood while
reducing waste and promoting more sustainable tree care practices.

Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some common questions we are asked about firewood:
Keep It Elevated: Stack firewood on pallets or a firewood rack to prevent ground moisture from soaking into the wood.
Allow Airflow: Leave gaps between rows to promote ventilation and proper drying.
Cover the Top Only: Protect firewood from rain and snow while leaving the sides open for airflow.
Choose a Dry Location: Store firewood in a sunny, well-drained area away from standing water. Avoid damp, shaded spots where moisture can build up.
Keep a Safe Distance: Store firewood at least 20 feet away from your home or other structures when possible to discourage pests and reduce fire hazards.
Simply fill out your contact information and select your desired quantity of firewood. Our team will reach out with pricing, delivery options, and additional details to help you complete your order.
For Metro Detroit households that enjoy a fire a few nights per week, typically from late October through April, 1–2 full cords of firewood may be enough to last the season.
If your fireplace or wood stove serves as your primary heat source, plan to stock up on 2 or more full cords, depending on your home’s size, heating needs, and frequency of use.
